The Parures de Samurais was designed by the famous Aline Honore for the house of Hermes. Pelages et Camouflage, Au Coeur de la Vie, Cent Plis des Miao are some of the designs created by this talented designer. Aline Honore’s designs are always very popular and I will not be surprised if even Parures de Samurais will get the grail status in the future.
As described on the website of Hermes, the Parures de Samurais design was inspired by the samurai warriors of medieval Japan who had richly ornamented armour. Fourteen such elements from the 14th to the 18th century can be found in this composition designed by Aline Honore. At the centre is a suit of armour in bronze, iron, gold, leather, silk and lacquer, crafted by two armourers of the Myochin school. This adornment from the Edo period (1615-1868) is certain to have belonged to a daïmio – a rich landowner. The ornamental details feature floral motifs or clan coats of arms. These pieces are preserved at the Ann & Gabriel Barbier‑Mueller Museum in Dallas, United States. This private collection of samurai armour put together by the 3rd and 4th generations of the great art‑collecting family, the Barbier-Muellers, contains close to a thousand pieces and is one of the largest of its kind in the world.
The Parures de Samurais design belongs to the Spring Summer 2017 collection and comes in many beautiful color ways. I have selected cw 02 in powdery pink/khaki/denim and cw 05 in ebony/blue/orange.
Enjoy!
I never buy duplicates of a design, but! My third Samourais is on its way from H.com! This design is truly stunning and will, I believe, attain grail status, as you predict. I have cw 13 and 14 and am waiting for 8. All the color ways are fabulous – it’s just a matter of choosing the right ones for a person’s coloring and wardrobe. Enjoy your cw 2!

Oh, I completely understand you. I regret so much I did not get an another cw before it was gone. It is a fabulous design. Interesting is that it was not love from the first sight. I considered this design to be too busy. But with time I understood what a marvelous scarf it is. Congratulations on your 3 cw:s. It is such a great investment!

🙂 Hello Irina,
this scarf suits you extremely well! I like the idea that you now only introduce the scarf, but that you show how it looks when worn. Excellent idea!
Have a very HAPPY evening 🙂

Thank you, dear, for visiting my blog and for leaving such a sweet comment. This scarf is definitely one of the most favorite ones. I would so much like to have it in another cw too, but so far I could not find a cw which would work for me as well as this one.

It might be difficult to judge from the pictures on EBay. A skillful authenticator would probable see if it is authentic or not. I can give you a name of a person who is very good in it, but I don’t know if she provides her services free of charge or not.
