I am very happy to share with you the pictures of my first Hermes scarf from the Fall 2017 collection – Les trésors d’un Artiste by the famous designer Pierre Marie. After trying a number of different colour ways my choice has fallen on the colour way 16 in vibrant beige/red/green. I find this colour way to be very versatile and easy to match with my other wardrobe pieces. The beige background of the scarf is so incredibly pretty and will go well with so many different classic colours.
Just a few words about the history of the design.
According to http://www.hermes.com, the composition of the design centres on a very fine piece from the collection of Émile Hermès. This nineteenth-century box of colours doubtlessly belonged to an amateur outdoor painter of the Romantic era – a hiker wandering high and low in search of a subject. The clever, tasteful design incorporates everything a painter needs to commune with Nature. Watercolour tablets, phials of pigment, sealing wax, brushes, charcoal, goose quills, a knife and pocketknife, a scraper, a ruler, a mother-of-pearl and gilded silver paper-cutter, a white marble palette, a cut-glass pestle, miniature dishes and – of course – tubes of paint, a then-recent invention dating to 1841. There is a place for everything in the paint-box’s compartments, drawers and gusset. Crafted in lemonwood, its beauty lies equally in its delightful appearance and intelligent design.
Enjoy!
🙂 Hello there,
it’s an unusual motif and I would not have chosen the color way for myself.
However, it suits you extremely well. Congratulations on the great new scarf!
Have a very HAPPY week 🙂

Hello dear Marquis Paris! I am so glad you visited my blog. Yes, the design is unusual indeed and especially the color way since it is not that common for Hermes to issue scarves with this lovely beige background. I think this particular color way is very versatile since it has beige, green, blue and red colors. These colors will suit with almost any outfit. I am so happy I got this scarf before it is sold out. Many warm hugs from Sweden, your friend Irina

Hello from Japan! I ran into your blog searching how this beautiful Pierre Marie scarf will look when worn. Your blog is beautiful! I especially like how you present the scarves in many different ways. Very helpful for a beginner Hermès scarf fan like me 🙂 My first Hermès scarf is Art des Steppes in navy/white/green/purple by the way. It’s so gorgeous I never tire looking at it.
Looking forward to exploring your other posts.
