Le Grand Prix du Faubourg by Ugo Gattoni

This season I had no difficulties choosing my favorite scarf. As many of you already know from my Instagram account I have chosen Le Grand Prix du Faubourg by Ugo Gattoni, cw 08 in orange/blue/white. I fell totally in love with the fun and dynamic design of the scarf, which is so different from the other designs I own. This is the first design in my Hermes collection by Ugo Gattoni but definitely not the last one.

The design is perfectly described on  www.hermes.com – “An oneiric race through a phantasmagorical Faubourg” captures the spirit of the design. An fanciful profusion from which emerge architectual forms, advertising hoardings, stories and anecdotes from all the epochs of this Parisian street, where Hermes opened almost two centuries ago. Crowds surge around the bend of the Faubourg, colourful, festive, dynamic. Racing cyclists cheered on by the crowd, flying boats, Zeppelins and balloons occupy every inch of the scarf”.

Even though the design of the scarf is complicated I personally don’t find it difficult to match it with my other wardrobe pieces or wear it for different occasions. Depending on how you fold the scarf, it can be colourful or neutral. I have taken some pictures of my new treasure and invite you to explore it’s rich details by yourself.

Isn’t it wonderful? Do you have any favorite designs this season?

I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Best,

Irina

  1. 🙂 Dear Irina,
this scarf is really interesting! I find it a little bit overwhelming in its design on first sight. But maybe I just have to get used to it.
It suits you very well and I like the bangles you are wearing with it!
    Have a very HAPPY week!

    1. Thank you, dear Claudia! This season I went totally out of my comfort zone and got not only this one but also some other scarves which at first didn’t seem appealing to me. I think you always need to try a scarf IRL in order to understand if it suits you. I hope you find a wonderful scarf this season. A dream in purple, since I love when you wear purple 💜 this colour works superbly with your complexion!

  2. Irina,
Your scarf looks beautiful. I love the colours, particularly the way it looks when folded and worn. I have a humble collection of Hermes 90 x 90 scarves and have just started branching out to the Twilly scarves and enamel hinge clasp bracelets. Ugo Gattoni’s illustrations capture my attention and are so unique. I particularly like his Hippopolis scarf and animation. Enjoy your new and special purchase.

    1. Thank you so much, dear Kathryn, for your wonderful words. And, of course, I wish you good luck and much fun with your Hermes collection. Hippopolis is lovely 😊. Unfortunately I don’t own it but regret I didn’t get it when it was available.
